*Handle is the operating infrastructure for insurance brokerages.
ΔAn insurance broker doesn't sell policies: it manages information across systems that don't talk to each other. Insurer portals, spreadsheets, account statements, email, CRM. Every piece of data is captured three times, reconciled by hand and lost once. That work shows up on no financial statement, yet it defines how many clients an account executive can serve, how many renewals fall through because of an expiration nobody saw, and how long it takes a director to learn how much they're owed. Handle exists so that work stops being done. Not done faster: stops being done. Handle is made of two layers. The first is the System of Record (SOR): a single living database, connected to more than 150 insurer portals, that updates itself. Policies, endorsements, expirations, receipts and status stop living in two people's heads and start living in a system. The second layer is the AI agents, which run complete processes on top of that base without continuous supervision: portal quoting, payment validation, collections, data reconciliation, KYC, claims and custom agents. They operate end-to-end, around the clock. The human team reviews exceptions, not processes.
1.Compared to the previous generation of brokerage software.
2.Handle was founded by Poncho (Alfonso de los Rios) and Toño (Antonio Nacoud) in San Francisco in 2026, and is backed by a16z. It operates in Mexico, the United States, Brazil and Spain — markets that share the same problem under different regulation: the back-office work is identical in Monterrey, Miami, São Paulo and Madrid, and everywhere it's done by a person, by hand. The company's thesis is that the next great brokerage won't be the one that hires the most account executives, but the one that needs the fewest. Insurance distribution won't be won by payroll size. It'll be won by operating capacity per person, and that number today is limited by manual data entry, not by talent.
3.The purpose is older than the company. Every useful technology does the same thing: it takes away from the human the work that doesn't require a human. Data entry requires no criteria, no judgment, no relationship. A conversation with a client who just had an accident does. Handle doesn't automate brokerages: it gives them back the time to do the one thing a system can't do for them. The rest — what today consumes eighty percent of the day — shouldn't exist. Subject to restrictions and limitations, like everything worthwhile.
Trusted by leading brokers and insurers
The real limit isn't the features — it's the policies. If you manage fewer than 2,000 and only need quoting and payment validation, the base plan is enough. Beyond that, or if you need collections, reconciliation, KYC, claims or a CRM/ERP connection, the full plan isn't an upgrade — it's the only one that fits.
No. You upload your existing records from Excel or your current database, and the SOR becomes the source of truth. The full plan also connects to your CRM/ERP, so there's no double entry and no forced migration.
Handle operates the portals for you with the credentials your team already uses. The difference is that instead of one person logging into 15 portals, the agent logs into all of them at once, all day long.
End-to-end, 24/7. It's not a copilot waiting for instructions: the collections agent reminds, follows up and escalates on its own; the validation agent reconciles every receipt against every deposit without anyone opening Excel. Your team reviews exceptions, not processes.
No critical process runs blind: every agent action is logged and your team reviews the exceptions before they reach the client.
Immediate cancellation. No lock-in contract, no penalty. On the full plan you also get an Account Manager and engineers for forward deployment from day one — implementation isn't your problem, it's ours.
